DIA Blog 015 - What You're Missing Out On At Lawry's The Prime Rib by H8R

Image
by H8R After becoming famous in Beverly Hills in the 1930s, Lawry's The Prime Rib has become synonymous with excellent food and impeccable service. The location I visited in the Umeda area of Osaka is one of the three restaurants in Japan. It's got a fancy feel that hearkens back to the old days of stiff cocktails and simple, yet delicious, food. If you like prime rib, then this is the place for you! The cost is higher than you might pay at your average steak joint, but the quality does not disappoint. My philosophy is to live every day pretty cheaply so you can ball hard when you feel like it! I highly recommend one of the cuts of prime rib over other steak options (I mean prime rib is in the name, right?). The more expensive cuts are usually bigger. You can get the prime rib by itself, or blow a few extra bucks to get the course. The course includes appetizers, soup, salad, and dessert. There are also a wide variety of cocktails, wines, and other beverages...

DIA Blog 008 - Are Delta Buddy Passes Any Good? Here's The Truth! by H8R

Image
by H8R Flying on a Delta Buddy Pass has been a wild experience. It's kinda like mixing the excitement of flying with the thrill of gambling! When using the pass, a reservation is made for you to be on standby for your desired flight. Whether or not you actually get on it is another story. However, there still is the chance that you could get first class (which happened to me!). Here's my experience with using the buddy pass to travel this holiday season. Hear the full story on Ep. 015 of our podcast! Getting the pass Booking the flight in the first place can be a bit of a challenge. Not all flights are available, there are multiple itineraries to choose from, and the person who has the passes has to book everything for you. If you have any questions or need to change anything, this is the person you'll have to contact to get it done. The price of a round trip ticket from Nagoya to Los Angeles was about $600 so we saved a little bit of money over...

DIA Blog 006 - 8 Steps To Have An AWESOME Thanksgiving In Japan by H8R

Image
by H8R Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays in the entire year. What's not to love about sitting down with friends and family to break bread and enjoy the fruits of your labor? Since I've come to Japan, I've had one Thanksgiving dinner that was pretty good, but it didn't really deliver on what I was used to. There was another time when a bunch of us went to a local Taiwanese restaurant. It satisfied in terms of meeting up with great people to share a meal and stuff our faces, but it didn't have all of the nostalgic foods I had been missing. When I thought about it, the last really, really good Thanksgiving dinner I ate was one that I cooked in 2013. My mood was similar to my boy Noogie's so this was the first year I decided to go out and have a proper Thanksgiving with some friends. Make sure you check out our Thanksgiving episode of Dudes In Asia! 1. Choose your destination Living in Mie, Japan, my options for good, authentic...
